Counseling/Clinical Psychologist or equivalent trained mental health professional
Responsibilities: Full-time, 12 month position providing individual and group counseling; campus based mental health consultation; psychological assessment; supervision of pre-doctoral psychology interns; and educational program development. We provide the opportunity to develop a niche of specialization within the staff. This would be areas such as: Testing and assessment; liaison to special populations including athletes; outreach coordination. Possible adjunct teaching opportunities in counselor education. Accomplishment as demonstrated by research and/or grant development encouraged.
Qualifications: Ph.D. or Psy.D.in Counseling or Clinical Psychology or equivalent mental health field, eligible for licensure or certification in the State of Kansas. Preference given to candidate with two or more years experience with a minimum of one year in a college or university setting. Candidates must present documented evidence of specialization training and experience compatible with the job responsibilities outlined above.

Setting: Kansas State University Counseling Services is a comprehensive counseling service located in a comfortable, attractive facility. We have an interdisciplinary staff of 20 people including counselors, psychologists, psychology interns, and a psychiatrist. We are an APA accredited training site for pre-doctoral psychology interns and a practicum site for students in a counselor education program. The service includes an alcohol and other drug prevention program, a stress management/biofeedback laboratory, and a career development program that include credit classes. The mission of the service is to support the educational goals of students through the process of decision-making, crisis intervention, and personal skill building. Education and prevention are a major part of the agency purpose. While students are seen and evaluated with a wide range of student concerns, those requiring intensive, long-term treatment may be referred to outside agencies. Kansas State University is a land grant institution of 24,000 students in Manhattan, KS a city of 50,000 in the beautiful Kansas Flinthills.
